Tandem Cycling with MSSC

Merton Sport and Social Club (MSSC) run Tandem cycle rides on the first Sunday and third Saturday of each month.

Four different levels of rides are on offer, from Level 1 for beginners to the far more challenging Level 4 for experienced cyclists.

However, we can only run as many rides as we have ride leaders available.

We would encourage anyone new to MSSC to email cycling@mssc.org.uk to express interest, rather than simply signing up for a ride.  We can then have a conversation with them to gauge their level of experience and individual needs in terms of training and support.

Download directions:   Old Ruts from Morden Underground Station

Please remember that anyone new to MSSC is welcome to try out our activities before joining, but paid-up members are given priority when allocating places.

MSSC’s tandems are now based at Old Rutlishians’ Sports Ground, Poplar Road, Merton Park SW19 3JS.

Which is approximately within fifteen minutes’ walk of Morden Underground Station, Morden Road and Merton Park tram stops, South Merton Railway Station and several bus routes including the K5, 80, 93, 118, 154, 157, 163, 164, 201, 293 and 470.

However, please let us know if you would like to be met at a station, bus or tram stop and shown the route to Old Ruts, at least for the first time you come to the new venue.

If you have any issues with the online form, please get in touch. Email: tandemmanagement@mssc.org.uk

To find out how to become a member of MSSC and to pay the £15 annual subscription, please email membership@mssc.org.uk.

Please remember that considerable effort is made to try to secure enough pilots to make sure every stoker who registers has a place on a ride, so if you find you no longer need a place, we would appreciate knowing as soon as possible, as that is potentially one less pilot we need to find and your place could be offered to another stoker on the waiting list.  While we recognise that some changes to your plans are unavoidable, we ask that you check you are available before signing up for a ride and let us know immediately if you can no longer attend.

Look forward to seeing you on a ride soon.
