Volunteers are needed for collection at Victoria Station
on Friday 30 September!

Metro has another opportunity to hold a collection day, this time at Victoria train station on the 30 September 2022, from 7:30 am until 7:30 pm. Can you help us to raise money to continue to provide support for sporting and social activities across London?

We are looking for people to come along and help us. Assistance dogs are welcome; if you would like to bring a friend for support, that would be great!.

We will have a rota so you choose what hours you would like to do.

Before starting, people need to bring a photo ID and sit through a ten-minute safety brief.

If you are interested in being part of the day, helping us to raise awareness of the charity and to raise some funds, we would love to hear from you

You will be supplied with collection boxes and tee shirts which you will be able to keep as a thank you after the day.

Volunteers are needed for collection at Waterloo train Station on Friday, 26 August!

Metro have the go-ahead to do a collection at Waterloo train station on 26  August from 7 am (catch the commuters!) until 7 pm.  As you can imagine, these opportunities help us to raise money to continue to provide support for sporting and social activities across London.

We especially need volunteers for lunch and early evening time slots!

If you have an hour at lunchtime and work near Waterloo station or pass through on your way home and are interested in helping out, please email Tracie.tappenden@metroblindsport.org

We can have up to 6 people collecting around the station at any one time, and we are looking for people to come along and help us.  Assistant dogs are very welcome, and if you would like to bring a friend for support, that would also be welcome.

We will have a schedule so you can do as long or as short as you like.

Tennis Volunteers needed for the Metro Tennis Tournament – 17 Feb!

Linda Almond our amazing award winning  volunteering co-ordinator needs even more volunteers to help at the Metro Tennis Tournament on the 17 Feb 2019,  and here is your chance to join Linda’s great team of volunteers!

So if you’re interested in trying out volunteering and helping with Blind and VI tennis in the Islington area, this is a great way to start.

About Linda Almond

Linda Almond is a dedicated volunteer for Metro Blind Sport and has been supporting people with sight loss to access and enjoy weekly tennis sessions since 2011. Linda first discovered her love of tennis 20 years ago when she started playing for a local team. One day, she attended the Blind Tennis Championships in Roehampton where she met Roy Smith, Director of Metro Blind Sport, and happened to say “if you are ever in Islington and need a hand” which is where Linda’s volunteering journey began.
