South East London Working Age Forum in Lambeth
After having great success with our Working Age Forum, London Vision is piloting the delivery of our forums more locally across the capital. We have been delivering this in south west London since spring 2019 as a pilot and are now rolling this out across the south east London region.
We will be hosting the first event in the London borough of Lambeth, and others in neighbouring boroughs in the new year. At this launch event our guest speaker Roger Lewis will be sharing his personal sight loss journey, discussing barriers, employment, disability and influencing others. You will also hear from a beneficiary of our Works for Me employment programme who recently secured a 9-month internship with Pocklington Trust.

Meeting and talking to other attendees is an important part of the forum, so there will be an hour of networking after we hear from our guest speakers, with refreshments provided.
We recognise that having a locally based forum provides added benefits, allowing members to engage with services and support uniquely available in the area, whilst also providing opportunities for meeting like-minded people living in similar circumstances. For this reason, we are collaborating with statutory and sector partners in south east London to establish a Working Age Forum for the blind and partially sighted community.
