We are hoping to play a round-robin format for B1 and B2-B5’s events. This will be determined by the number of entries and will be confirmed nearer the time. We aim to have a schedule of play available one week prior to the tournament. We expect this event to be popular. In the event of having to restrict numbers, preference will be given in order of receipt of entries.

Tournament rules:

B1 players must wear eye shades. These will be inspected by the umpires before play starts.

B1 players will be allowed up to 3 bounces, B2 up to 3 bounces, B3 up to 2 bounces and B4/B5 one bounce.

Dress code:

White tops must be worn by all players.

Catering:

A packed lunch will be provided for players, umpires and volunteers. Please bring your own water bottle.

Volunteers:

Additional support makes a big difference by helping us deliver a great tennis tournament for all. Please let us know of any volunteers/umpires who are free to help along with any family, friends and colleagues who may also be able to assist on the day.

Blind Tennis World Ranking!

Metro Members on the Blind Tennis World Ranking List

Blind Tennis World Ranking List Below!

A huge thanks to Odette Battarel who shared this new link with us!

Odette who just happens to ranked 3rd in B3 Women, was instrumental in the development of the sport in the UK. Odette with her friend and Metro trustee, Amanda Green, where the first to bring Blind Tennis to the UK back in 2007. Now, after a lot of hard work by many, including our amazing coaches and volunteers, it is now integrated into the LTA yearly programme of events with national and international competitions for all to enjoy and take part in.
