New Disability Equality training to improve access to sport services for disabled people
A bespoke workshop aiming to improve the knowledge and confidence of sport, tourism and leisure professionals
Disability Sports Coach and London Sport have partnered to deliver disability equality training courses that aim to ensure disabled people have improved experiences when accessing sport services and facilities in London.
The tailored, bespoke course improves individuals’ knowledge and understanding of barriers that deaf and disabled people may face in a sports facility, reasons why it is important and beneficial to make services inclusive and how organisations can effectively engage with deaf and disabled people.
Who is the course for?
This is an introductory course suitable for any organisation that provides services in sport, leisure and tourism.
What the course delivers?
- Understand the business case for providing inclusive services
- Identify steps that could be taken to remove specific barriers in your facility
- Understand the Equality Act 2010 legislation
- Explore different methods of communication
- Explore how to use terminologies appropriately
The course is 3 hours long with a comfort break

Cost & Requirements
£600 + tutor travel expenses. A 20 person capacity classroom is required.
