Leisure Fun Day 14 July with the 2000 club

2000 Club:  Leisure Fun Day – 14 July 2019!

Indoor activities will include: Boccia, Table Tennis, Darts, Uni-Kurl, Skittles and Target Bowls. Also Parachute games etc.

We have a wonderful!  Athletics Track available to us and we will be having Running and Jumping events.  Also we have a good sized Sports Field for events like Javelin, Shot Putt and Club Throw.  Even for Fun we’ll be arranging Throwing The Welly and other events.

Venue:  Osterley Sports Centre, 120 Wood Lane, Isleworth, TW7 5FF.

Nearest Piccadilly Line Underground Station being ‘Osterley‘. It’s only 10-15 minutes walk from station too.

Bus H91 catch from there, a couple of stops only.

Please ask anyone who is interested in coming and wants to know more, to contact Alan Stacey  – details are below.  We need to know how people are likely to want to come. It’s absolutely Free, so please come and join the fun.

We’ve got 2 teams of 12 Youngsters from Network Challenge (National Citizen Services) Planning the Day and running events by providing (24) Young Volunteers for ‘The 2000 Club’ on 14th July 2019.

This event is for club’s or individuals to come and join us for a Fun Day out.

Bar Games Evening with MSSC

MSSC Social - Bar Games Evening Tuesday 23rd Oct!

Back by popular demand, Merton Sports and Social Club (MSSC)’s next themed social will be a bar games evening on Tuesday 23rd October.  Have a go at Giant Jenga, Bar Skittles, Darts, Chess, Dominos and try rolling a wood or two on the indoor bowls mat.

As usual, the bar will be open and tea and coffee available.  Why not bring along a friend a two?

Merton Sports and Social Club (MSSC)

We’re a community based, integrated club for visually impaired and sighted members.

Our regular activities include:-

SOCIALS:  We meet every Tuesday evening from 8pm at the Guardian Centre for various social activities, Indoor Bowls, Darts, a chat and/or a drink.  The bar is open.  Suggestions for events are welcome.

TANDEM CYCLING:  There are rides on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in the month with a sighted front rider.  The cyclists participate in the Tandem Marathon at Spalding in Lincolnshire every April and there is a club weekend cycling to Eastbourne in the summer.

Turbo Training takes place on Tuesday evenings at the Guardian Centre organised by Russell Sparkes 07949 844 165.

SWIMMING takes place every Thursday evening at the Cannons Leisure Centre in Mitcham.

BOWLS:  Our very active team plays matches in the summer against other clubs, of mostly sighted members.  We use cords to separate the lanes and Walkie-Talkies to keep in touch with players.

QUIZZES:  The team participates in the Merton Council Quiz League at the Civic Centre during the winter.  Organiser is Simon Coates 020 8540 5396.

DARTS:  Matches are arranged, both home and away, generally against sighted players.

RAMBLING:  Friendly, not too strenuous, walks take place mostly in the summer.  We are looking for a new coordinator.
