Sign up to our list for our regular Visually Impaired Climbing programme. Where you will get the opportunity to learn how to climb under a guided professional instructor!

These 6 weekly sessions will provide you with a great experience of learning how to use the ropes and gain increased confidence in climbing and navigating different types of walls within the centre.

Participants will also receive a Metro Blind Sport welcome pack when signing up.

  • Location: Westway Sports and Fitness Centre, 1 Crowthorne Rd, London W10 6RP.
  • Cost: FREE 6-week programme

When the new timeslots are published and available, then please add the timeslot you wish to attend on and whether you have climbed before.

Meet and Greet is available at the nearest station which is Latimer Road and Crowthorne Road (Stop H) bus stop if required. This will take place 30 minutes before the session starts. Latimer Road Station is on the Hammersmith and City and Circle Line. There is also the option of Shepherds Bush Station which is on the Central, Overground and Southern Line (a 20-minute walk or a 10-minute bus ride on the 316 stopping at Crowthorne Road, Stop H).

For those who may be accompanied by a driver to the sessions, there is underground parking onsite available Mon-Sat and free parking on Sunday.

VICTA Spring Family Weekend Closing Date for Applying: 21 Feb 2020

VICTA Family Weekend 2020 applications are now open!

Closing Application Date: 21 February 2020

Our ever-popular VICTA Family Weekends are now open, if you have a child aged 5 to 17 who has a vision impairment, you and your family can apply to join us!  Family Weekends are a great opportunity to try new things, meet people and share experiences. We provide a range of amazing activities for you and your children, as well as a chance to attend workshops and talks.

We will be hosting two Family Weekends, one in Spring (22 to 25 May 2020) and one in Summer (31 July to 3 August 2020).

Please make sure you apply before the closing date on 21 February 2020 as these weekends are always oversubscribed.

Event details for the  Spring Family  Weekend 2020

Closing Date to Apply: 21 February 2020  Event Date: 22 to 25 May 2020
Who: 5 to 17 years plus immediate family

Location: Dearne Valley, Doncaster
Cost: £50 per person (under 5s are free), if this is your family’s first VICTA family weekend we offer an introductory price of £40 per person

The Spring weekend is our first of the year and we will be heading back to Dearne Valley, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Dearne Valley promises a fantastic array of exciting activities spread across 50 acres of grassland, woodland and wetland. Activities on offer at the centre include high and low ropes, zipwire, climbing, aeroball, archery, sport and team building activities, raft building and kayaking. The activities will be run by the ‘Kingswood’ activity staff who ensure everyone has an amazing time.

  • Timeslot 1: Friday 15 November 2019 at Time: 12 pm-1:30 pm (duration 90-minute sessions) then weekly until the last session on the Friday 20 December.
  • Timeslot 2: Sunday 17 November 2019 at Time:  2 pm-3:30 pm (duration 90-minute sessions) then weekly until the last session on the Sunday 22 December.
