We know that life as a young blind or partially sighted person is a unique experience – and presents some unique challenges. We want to enable and equip all members of our community with the skills and confidence to live life to the full. But that’s not all. We want them to feel empowered to lead, motivate and inspire other young people too. That’s where you come in.
We’re recruiting our Young Leaders – and we want you
We’re looking for blind and partially sighted people aged 18-30 to be our aspiring Young Leaders. If you want to be more active in your local community then this is the programme for you.
We’ll initially be recruiting in four of our England networks where the project is running: London, East of England, East Midlands and West Midlands
No previous experience is required, but enthusiasm is a must – and the following are the sorts of qualities we’d like applicants to have. Perhaps you:
- pride yourself on being a great communicator
- are super organised
- have an interest in technology or have your finger on the pulse with the latest social media platforms
- are passionate about bringing together young blind and partially sighted people in your local area, helping to reduce isolation.
We want to utilise your valuable experiences as a young person in our community and your existing knowledge. Combined with the new skills and support that will be provided, this will help you to come together and form our first team of Young Leaders.
If any of this sounds like you, we’d love for you to get involved.
