The Cliffden Hotel is a comfortable and conveniently placed historic house hotel, originally a large Victorian home, set amongst well laid out gardens. It’s location with access to the seafront and promenade of Teignmouth make it ideal for exploring the area. Teignmouth is known as the “Jewel of the English Riviera” and a holiday here clearly shows why, with its relaxing environment and welcoming people.

Dare you brave our winter weather? Come and join us for some short walks and blow away the cobwebs! This great value break includes 4 nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast and three mid-week walks, with guide dogs more than welcome. A good level of fitness is required plus warm clothing. Packed lunch is provided on the walks.

We would like to invite you to our ever-popular Singing Weekend. Arriving on the Thursday, it all kicks off at 10am on the Friday morning and finishes at noon on the Monday. The weekend includes singing at the Sunday Morning Service in Our Lady and St Patricks Church and then a concert for the hotel guests in the evening.

Take a look through some of our fascinating local history, starting the week with a visit to Kents Cavern, take a trip on the Funicular Cliff Railway, enjoy a guided walk around Historic Exeter, ride the Steam Train on the picturesque Primrose Line at Buckfastleigh and then finish the week with a trip to two National Trust Properties. Be Prepared!! This year’s action-packed activity week is certainly not for the faint hearted, but for those who crave excitement and adrenaline rush. We will be sailing, taking part in a high ropes course with zip wires, zooming around the bay on jet skis, go-karting and finishing off with a game of Bowling.
Due to the nature of the activities involved, a good level of fitness is required.

Moor to Coast

Start the week up of the High Moor with a visit to England’s newest Castle, Castle Drogo! Explore the rugged moorland at Haytor and delight in the little town of Widdecombe with its famous church. Enjoy a coastal trip on the Paignton Steam Train to Dartmouth and finish the week with a luxurious cream tea and a stroll along the clifftop at Babbacombe. This break includes Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
Walking Weeks – South Devon is rugged, beautiful, and tranquil where a mix of weather conditions can add to a sense of adventure and provide a challenge. From the beauty of walking along a golden Devon beach to the tranquillity of a canal stroll there can be nothing more relaxing. Then there is the vast moorland of the Dartmoor National Park defined by forests, rivers and tors, trails winding through valleys with Neolithic tombs and abandoned stone age farmhouses, Devon has it all.
We have full days out, walking up to 6 miles per day over varied terrain in a variety of locations. Great time out for the Guide Dogs too with ample opportunity to free run them.
A suitable level of fitness is needed for all walks, with some experience preferred. Exact walking routes are decided a few weeks before hand due to the variety available and seasonal nature of the area, a full description of our selected programme is discussed at the ‘Welcome Meeting’ on arrival day.
Please bring your own, comfortable walking boots (sturdy and supportive), waterproof jacket, hat, gloves and waterproof trousers. These are essential for all levels of walking. Packed lunches with bottled water are supplied, you may wish to bring snacks, a flask and a reusable drink bottle. Walks are led by a qualified group leader and our dedicated, friendly volunteers will help guide where needed so that you can relax, appreciate the area and enjoy the week.
Please note that some excursions, walks or outings may need to be changed or revised in the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather or opening hours of a venue.

What to Expect
A good level of fitness is needed. We will walk up to 6 miles in a day as described above in spectacular countryside, seashore and moorland some very moderate up and down hill walking. We carry all we need and have a picnic lunch along the way, most days the walk will finish near a tea shop at about 4:30pm. With a ‘welcome get-together’ after arrival you have time to relax, get to know your fellow walkers and use the hotels leisure facilities before preparing for an enjoyable week. Guide dogs are welcome on these walks. All breaks include Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

All rates are per person per break based on standard room accommodation
Club rooms are available at a supplement of £30 per room per night
Full payment is required 6 weeks prior to arrival at which point the break cannot be cancelled.
