Prospectus

• The Accommodation and Entry forms for those staying residential must be returned no later than 15th January 2020.
• Entry forms for non-residential competitors will be accepted up until 20th March 2020 latest.

ACCOMMODATION & SHOOT FEES

To be eligible to receive the concessionary accommodation fees, you and your spotter must be a member of BBS.
For BBS members, accommodation is charged at £40.00 per person per day.
For non-BBS Members, accommodation is charged at £80.00 per person per day
BBS membership is £20 per annum (senior).
Shoot fee for the weekend is £15.00.

Sort code: 40-27-06 Account No. 72417111 – State reference ACC10 and your name.IMPORTANT: Lilleshall charge for cancellations, this is around £15.00 if you cancel within three months of the event.

If you cancel within seven days of the event then Lilleshall will charge the full cost of your accommodation. All costs will be recouped from yourself, less any deposit paid. Let the Tournament Secretary know immediately if you need to cancel.

Be aware that accommodation can become limited at busy periods, so if you book late, rooms may not be available and you will be responsible for finding (and paying for) your own alternative accommodation.

COMPETITION INFORMATION

Saturday Championship Round 1 (morning session)
WA 25m

Shot under AGB Rule 407 – Dress Regulation Rule 307 applies
5 dozen on a 60cm face at 25mtrs shot in ends of three in 2 minutes.
There will be a minimum of two ends of practice prior to the start.
This round qualifies for BBS-AS Records.
Saturday Championship Round 2 (afternoon session)
Portsmouth (AGB UK Record Status)
Shot under AGB Rule 407 – Dress Regulation Rule 307 applies
5 dozen on a 60cm face at 20yds shot in ends of three in 2 minutes.
There will be a minimum of two ends of sighters prior to the start.

This round qualifies for AGB UK and BBS-AS Records.
Awards will be given in Shooting Categories VI1, VI2 and VI3 combined, and VI Open, and based on the total score from both sessions.

The ‘Christie Trophy’ (Handicap Trophy – from morning session WA 25m)
The ‘Thomas Trophy’ (Most improved score from previous year)
If you wish to be included in any handicap round, you must submit an up to date handicap.
Handicaps will only be accepted if dated and signed by your Club Records Officer.

This can be done either by email or in writing and presented on the day.
To claim AGB UK records the archers’ tactile equipment must be compliant with WA rules.
For the Saturday Championship Rounds all archers will shoot in the Shooting Categories as defined in the “BBS-AS Shooting Category Definition Document”.

On the entry form you will be asked for your acuity sight classification and sighting method and placed in one of the three shooting categories by the Tournament Organiser. You are required to be compliant with all aspects of the relevant category including the wearing of blackouts as required.
AGB UK Record Status tournaments are liable for drug testing, if asked to do so you must comply, a refusal will be treated as a positive result.
Valid BBS and Archery GB membership cards will be required at registration and a CVI form if requested to do so. Sight classification must be registered with BBS Head Office. Entry to the competition may be refused if you fail to show any of this information.

SUNDAY ROUND – WORCESTER

DRESS REGULATIONS ARE OPTIONAL FOR THIS ROUND

60 arrows (12 ends) @ 20yds on a black & white 40cm target face
5 arrows are shot per end in 5 minutes, scoring is 5-4-3-2-1 (one end of 5 sighters)
There will be 2 faces per target set central, one above the other.
Archer ‘A’ will shoot 30 arrows at the top face and Archer ‘B’ 30 at the bottom.
Following a short break, Archer ‘A’ will shoot at the bottom face, Archer ‘B’ the top.
This Round will include the handicap based ‘Team VI v Team Sighted’ challenge.
If you do not have a B1 sight classification but wish to shoot using blackouts then you must comply with the VI1 rules stated in the “BBS Archery Section VI Shooting Category Definitions” document linked to above.

ARCHERS USING SPOTTERS

All archers with a B1 to B3 sight classification are required to have a Spotter when shooting.
Note: It is the archers’ responsibility to supply their own Spotter and ensure that their details and required information are included on the entry form when it is submitted.
Spotters and any scopes and chairs etc. must remain in their archer’s half of the shooting lane so as not to disrupt their neighbouring competitors.
AGB Rule 1102 b (vii) will apply to all archers using a Spotter (Safety issue):
A VI archer using a spotter shall only approach the target when accompanied by his/her spotter.

SHOOTING RANGE

The Range may be available for practice Friday afternoon but check with reception first as we do not officially have use of it until Saturday. All markers and tactile equipment must be removed from the Range when you have finished.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:
When practicing (at any time) and more than one target is being used then a ‘Field Captain’ must be appointed to comply with Archery GB insurance requirements. Whistle or verbal commands may be used but someone must take responsibility for the range.

SMOKING POLICIES

Please note Lilleshall’s smoking policy which must be followed:
“Smoking and vaping may only take place in outdoor areas. Smoking/vaping is banned within 4 metres of a pedestrian entrance to or exit from any building.”
“Vaping” refers to electronic cigarettes.

COMMUNICATION

Your e-mail address is important, further information will be sent to you closer to the event date (i.e. target list). If you change your e-mail address at any time, please notify the BBS Archery Section Secretary (secretary@BBSArchery.org.uk) as soon as possible stating that you have entered the Championships to ensure that you receive target lists etc.

RAFFLE
Any donations for the raffle will be gratefully appreciated.

LILLESHALL INFORMATION

For those staying residential note that Lilleshall may require a deposit for room keys.
If applied this can either be paid in cash or by leaving your credit card details at reception, your deposit will be refunded on return of keys. Please make sure you either read or have explained to you the fire precautions in your room and note that all rooms are non-smoking.
Checking in times are Friday from 13.30 and Saturday from 12.30. If you are staying Friday and Saturday night you must return your room keys by 12.30 Sunday afternoon, those staying Friday night only need to return their keys by 09.30 Saturday morning.

MEALTIMES

The following are the meal times at Lilleshall.
Breakfast: 07.30 to 08.30
Lunch: 12.30 in the Restaurant (both days)
Dinner: 18.30 to 20.00 Friday and 18.30 to 19.30 Saturday
Any pre-ordered packed lunches will be brought down to the Shooting Range
Light refreshments will be available at the END of the Tournament (both days)
