We both started playing blind tennis in 2012.  The game was in its infancy then but has rapidly growing  ever since.  There are now 7 regional tournaments culminating in the National Championships held annually in October.

One of the first tournaments we participated in was at the Northumberland Club in Jesmond.  The North East Visually Impaired tennis club has been a major contributor to increasing participation and raising the profile of the game across the U K.

Blind tennis can usually only be played on indoor courts and with specialist foam sound balls which have to be imported from Japan.  All of this is expensive – please support us by donating whatever amount you can afford to enable this to continue and expand.  It’s not just the sport, there is a social side to the game which allows often very isolated people interact and keep fit at the same time.
