VI Tennis: GB & Poland Apply 4 Mar!

Germany VI Tennis Friendly GB & Poland Deadline 4 March 2018

Germany are looking to organise a friendly meeting with GB & Poland alongside their national championships.  Some details are:

Location: Löhne/Westf., Germany

Entry by Date: Sunday 4 March

Event Dates: 14 – 17 June 2018

Costs: approximately 350 – 400 Euros which includes full board (travel costs in addition)

Number of players per country: maximum 15, with the majority being B2 & B3 male & females

Classification: players must have a BBS classification & provide certification at the tournament

All Inclusive Windrush Aquathlon

For the second year running, we are excited to announce that the Windrush Aquathlon is an event. In its 7th year, the Windrush Aquathlon will be held in Brockwell Park on June 24th, 2018.

The swim starts in the lido and the run takes you around beautiful Brockwell Park. It is totally traffic free.

The run course has passed the wheelchair friendly test and we are more than willing to make adaptations to accommodate as many athletes as possible. Prizes will be awarded for all categories with entrants.

So what are you waiting for? An early summer race to get the season started, in a great location.

The 24h Tennis Challenge 2018

Members of the Metro tennis took part in a 24h tennis challenge to help raise funds for the Tuesday evening  VI tennis sessions that take place every other week at the  National Tennis Centre in London.

We played from 4 pm to 6 pm for about 2 hours and sighted players tried the sym specs on to get a taste of the challenge of playing tennis with various sight conditions such as Macular Degeneration,Glaucoma, Retinopathy, RP, Stroke and other eye conditions.

At the end we did a service challenge and had to knock down a large tennis racket placed on the court at the bottom corner of the service box and Amanda hit the target on all of her 4 serves raising £10 per serve for us!

Fantastic ! Well done!
