She is active in inspiring others to go beyond perceived limitations and pursue goals that are both challenging and at the same time highly rewarding. Joana will help to facilitate this class and also offer her personal insights and guidance.

“I am thrilled and honored to be working with Joana this year to offer this very special free community class here in London and look forward to meeting all that are able to attend!”

EAST VI Sailing Forum!

East Anglian Sailing Trust Forum!

As it’s quite a while between  East Anglian Sailing Trust  cruises, especially over the cold winter months, and so we don’t get to catch up that often, we thought it might be good to arrange a VI forum, so we can catch up on news,  VI sailing and otherwise, and so we can swap sailing advice and refreshers to stop our brains getting rusty between cruises, or is that just me!

If you’d like to be a member of the forum, please email  jenhayden27@gmail.com with your preferred contact method for the forum (email or particular social media outlet) and a little bit about what you’d like to get out of the forum and we’ll do our best to accommodate the most popular requests.

If you could get back to me by the 16th December, I’d be most grateful, so I can go ahead and set up the forum.

If you have any queries about the forum, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Blind Cricket on Blue Peter!

Blind Cricket on Blue Peter

The 23rd November 2017 episode of BBC Children’s show Blue Peter featured a five-minute film about blind cricket.

original article by bcew.co.uk

Blue Peter, the world’s longest running children’s TV show, broadcasts on the CBBC channel and is approaching both its 5000th episode and its 60th birthday.

The film on blind cricket was made at Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Headingley ground on 20th September during a county championship match between Yorkshire and Warwickshire, and included footage shot in the indoor school and on the pitch in front of the viewing public during the county championship match’s lunch break.

Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell tried out blind cricket with help from BCEW Development Director John Garbett, VI cricketers Amanda Large, Jerri Mather, Liam Bradley, Martin Wilson and Shah Miah, as well as umpire Chris Parkes.

To watch an audio described version of the film, click here.

Or if you’d prefer to watch it without audio description visit BBC iPlayer and search for Blue Peter. The footage will remain on iPlayer until 22nd December 2017.
