16 weeks of free classes to anyone living with sight loss in the 12 inner London boroughs.
People can choose two from the following;
Art, Yoga, Zumba, IT and Creative Writing. All of our tutors are paid and hold current DBS checks. All I need is a name and telephone number and any relevant health information you feel we should be aware of and I can call them to explain more about the project. Each individual can do choose two classes from the following options;
Creative Writing/Recording. With the use of Dictaphones people can try out creative writing and record poems and stories.
IT Classes. This class is for beginners. Service Users can learn how to get on to the internet, use email and learn how to use basic programmes like Word with the use of NVDA – a free screenreader.
Yoga. This classes aim is to make the body stronger with the use of different stretching and breathing techniques.
Art Classes. These classes will be for trying different forms of art, and we have found it’s a nice chance for people to socialise and get to know one another.
Zumba. Fun exercise to stay active and keep healthy.
I can do bookings for Dial a Ride, but we do encourage people to also travel independently and I can meet people at Whitechapel station.
