One week residential – Sunday 28th July to Sunday 4th August – Dorking, Surrey –  with SENSE

There is also Introduction Day: Saturday 22 June – this is for any young person who is signed up, it is not compulsory but a day for any young person who is signed up to come with their family and meet the staff, ask any questions, get a feel for the programme.

About the project:

Vision England is an exciting residential programme for young people aged 12 – 17 years with a vision impairment, in partnership with the Field Studies Council (FSC). Young people are supported to play a leading role in changing their communities and the environment for the better.

The residentials are great fun and a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop independence and learn new skills in a fun environment.  Activities include Walks, bush craft, hiking and camping, team building and an opportunity to gain a John Muir Award certificate (environmental award scheme).

To give you a little bit of info though, we hope that each young person will be; making new friends, taking part in teamwork, experiencing being away from home etc, working towards obtaining the John Muir Award.

There are lots of different activities which are varied so that it adapts to everyone’s needs. One thing I can guarantee is that everyone enjoys their time with us, it’s fun, interesting, challenging and I would be very surprised if they didn’t enjoy it.

Age – All young people need to be between the ages of 12-17. They can live in any part of the UK as long as they can attend the full duration of the residential.

Cost – £25 for the whole programme.

What do you do now:

Firstly, for anyone who is interested could they please email me there name and telephone number

Contact: Fiona.McNaught@sense.org.uk

so that I can reserve a place as spaces are limited to 20 for each residential. I would then call each person and explain the project in more detail, talk through any questions and complete the application process. I only have 4 spaces left.

I look forward to hearing from you hopefully soon !
